Another lazy day. We seem to be getting quite good at that. No need for itineraries or agendas, just get up and go with whatever. We lazed by the pool, read and snoozed until lunch time and Mike’s return from the field then came up with some pseudo-plans, sort of.
We ended up heading into Peoria, [...]

Phoenix Day 6

I refuse to think that tomorrow is our last day here so enough said. At least we re taking the red eye back so we really have a whole day to enjoy before heading back to the arctic wasteland which is Michigan because , though usually your last day anywhere is a day of [...]
Phoenix: Is it Day 4 or 5?

I tend to loose track of time. It happens all the time, but it’s worse on vacation. I do know that right now, it is Friday, because Randy and the boys headed back to Chicago and 2 inches of fresh snow, and Erin and Mike’s roommates are heading east. Spring Training is over. Mike and [...]

These are a few Arizona observations:
The median age in Surprise is 74. It would be higher except that there are ball players and pilots in training at Luke Air Force base and their families which bring the average age down from 83. This is where old people who did not go to Florida come to [...]

After the morning in Paradise, Erin and I headed for some girl time, a.k.a. the mall. We were a quest. She needed a new swimming suit, a tankini with boy shorts. Girls will understand, there is no reason to try to explain it to the boys, We arrived at the mall 20 minutes before [...]

As of right now, I am literally sitting in Paradise. The Paradise Bakery which is this year’s morning coffee hang out that Larry and Erin found on oe of his trips here earlier this year. Last year it was Starbuck’s which had half of the necessary combo, coffee, but the Internet was not free. [...]
Phoenix Countdown

After working ridiculous hours for the last 13 weeks (90 of the last 97 days, I counted, and those 7 off days include the four we spent in Florida last month), the countdown to a week in Phoenix with Mike and Erin, plus Randy and the boys is almost complete. We are leaving in 35 [...]

Don’t know how valid this is and don’t know much about Ben Stein (I always thought he was kind of wierd), but if it’s legit then it is a very interesting comentary on the limiting of ideas around Intelligent Design.
Check out the super trailer for the movie, Expelled – No Intelligence Allowed.
A small rant

As you know I drive a little mountain goat disguised as a Honda Element. Traction is its middle name. But even I know that when there is 6 inches of fresh snow, it’s best not to drive like a FREAKING IDIOT because there is ice, slush, freezing crap that makes it more difficult for even [...]

Mark, the accountant, wanted to know if my time-sheet numbers were correct. I assumed they were as I’ve been working a lot of overtime getting this build-out done. Then he pointed out that the time-sheet had me down for 26 hours on Friday. That was not correct. It was only 13. I did not work [...]
